Find the Needle Farmhouse Walkthrough
Chapter 1 map guide: the opening loop, first upgrade decisions, and what changes before Basement.
Farmhouse is the starting map in Find the Needle and the foundation for every skill the game teaches. This guide walks through the first session, the collect-sell-upgrade loop, and how to use that foundation when Chapter 2 Basement becomes available.
The map holds the main hay pile where the needle hides. Everything outside the map—the lobby, the Classes booth, the Free Reward panel—exists to support runs here.
Start a Farmhouse run
- Enter the FARMHOUSE portal in the lobby.
- Select Normal difficulty for a clean first run.
- Leave Party Size at 1 for a solo introduction.
- Press Create and wait for the teleport.
Difficulty and party size are chosen before the run starts. Fix those settings before pressing Create rather than trying to change them inside the map.
The opening loop
Farmhouse runs follow a simple four-step cycle:
- Collect Hay — click the pile until the bag reads 25/25.
- Give the Hay to the Cow — move to the barn window.
- Sell — use the Sell interaction at the cow.
- Upgrade — press Tab to open the upgrade menu and purchase.
The documented Normal opening pays $0.01 per hay, so a full 25-hay bag produces $0.25. The first Speed upgrade is shown at $0.23. Those numbers describe the observed opening state; balance patches can change prices without changing the route.
First upgrade decision
Open the Tab menu after your first sale. Two rows appear first:
- Speed — reduces travel time between pile and barn
- Grasp — increases how much hay each click collects
Buy Speed first when the walk feels like the biggest time drain. Buy Grasp when each click removes too little hay. Together they attack the two slowest parts of the cycle.
The Tab menu also contains Hand, Hold, Dynamite, Pitchfork, and FEED. Do not assume an exact effect or later-level cost from the name alone. Check the upgrade tier list for the ranked order.
What the objective tracker tells you
| Objective | Action |
|---|---|
| Collect Hay (below capacity) | Keep clicking the pile |
| Collect Hay at 25/25 | Stop clicking, move toward the cow |
| Give the Hay to the Cow | Use Sell at the barn window |
| Cash available after sale | Open Tab and purchase an upgrade |
Clicking after the bag is full does not advance the run. Trying to sell before the objective changes will not replace the collection step. The tracker at the top of the screen is the best next-action indicator.
Before Chapter 2 Basement
Chapter 2 Basement is a reported update running September 5-15, 2026. The exact mechanics, entry requirements, and needle location for Basement are not verified. Use Farmhouse as preparation rather than guessing new-map behavior:
- Practice the Normal Farmhouse loop until collecting, selling, and opening Tab feels automatic.
- Record your best clear time or a simple benchmark such as how quickly you reach the first Speed purchase.
- Check your Gems, equipped Class, and unlocked badges before spending anything after the update appears.
- Join a fresh server near the reported Chapter 2 start and read the live in-game panel before choosing a map.
Do not assume Basement uses the same needle location, reward table, Class choice, or upgrade route as Farmhouse.
Confirming a find
The Roblox Badge API lists Found the Needle! as an enabled badge for the official experience. Check your badge notification or Roblox Badges after finding the needle. If the badge does not appear immediately, allow the platform to refresh before repeating a full run.
The badge is a completion check, not a location hint. The game still expects the hay-clearing loop; there is no supported fixed coordinate for a randomly revealed needle.
After the first clear
Move to Hard Mode only when the opening cycle is comfortable. Then explore the Classes booth for Gem-based roles, review badges for the complete achievement list, or check what’s new for Chapter 2 preparation.
The route and opening numbers were cross-checked against illustrated walkthroughs and the official Roblox Badge records.
